Miss C. E. Airth Friends and relatiyes today paid their last respects to the memory of Miss Charlotte Ethel Airth, former teacher at the Ottawa Ladies College. Miss Airth died at her home, 421 Third Avenue, Saturday. She retired in 1941 from a teaching position at the Ladies College which she held for 39 years. The funeral service was held at the home of her brother. J. M. Airth of Renfrew, with Rev. C. G. Ward officiating. Burial was in Thompson Hill Cemetery, Miss Airth was active Women's Canadian Club, the Business and Professional Wemen's Club and the Ottawa Historical Society. She attended Chalmers United Church. A native Renfrew, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Airth (Charlotte MacTavish). She received her education at Renfrew and the Ottawa Model School. She leaves two brothers, John of Renfrew, and H. C. Airth of New Westminster, B.C.
