GOLDBERG, Dr. Sol April 25, 1911 - April 5, 2010 Devoted family man and Plastic Surgeon to the stars passed away Monday, April 5, just weeks before his 99th Birthday. Author of 2 books and over 75 medical articles, he was a pioneer of cosmetic surgery, officing first on Hollywood Blvd and later on Sunset in B.H. A surprisingly good athlete for his size, he won innumerable golf tournaments, carrying a low 2 handicap; came in 2nd to 25,000 participants in a bowling tournament; played basketball, handball and rode horses. He loved music and played the saxophone, clarinet and harmonica. He was married for 62 years to the love of his life, Ruth, who predeceased him. They enjoyed travel, dancing and dinner parties. Although intelligent, he had a simple philosophy of life. He could not understand why people fought in wars or in families. His 3 children, Sanford Gage, Dr. Dennis Goldberg and Terry Goldberg, his 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, stepchildren, their spouses and his many friends always will remember this “Gentle Man” with loving memories.
