Tigers outscore Western Carolina CLEMSON (AP) Catcher Bert Heffernan had five hits, including two triples, scored six runs and drove in five more as Clemson outscored Western Carolina 20-11 in college baseball. Heffernan's effort which included a double and two singles - offset a power display by Western Carolina center fielder Skip Nellons, who had three home 1 runs and a single and drove in four runs. Nellons now has 13 home runs this year. Heffernan tied the school mark Monday night for most triples in a game and became only the fourth Clemson player to score six runs in a game. Nellons' third homer in the sixth inning tied it at 9, but Clemson scored five runs in the bottom of the inning to take a lead the Tigers never lost in running their record to 29-6. Western Carolina is 22-20.
