SALVADOR PELTIER, MEXICAN WAR VETERAN, PASSES AWAY Salvador Peltier, A pioneer and widely known resident of Allen county, and veteran of the Mexican and Civil wars, passed away at 7:30 o'clock last evening at his home, 607 Hendricks street, of senility. For many years Mr. Peltier conducted a saloon on the Bluffton rond at Band Point, long took an active part in the affairs of Fort Wayne. AITO he purchased a grocery in New Haven and enjoyed a successful business, retiring two years ago to move back to Fort Wayne. For several months Mr. Peltler had been in poor health, but yesterday was feeling as well as usual. He enjoyed a hearty dinner last evening: lighted his pipe while sitting in a rocking chair. In a few minutes, however, his pipe dropped from his mouth and he was dead, almost before members of his family could reach him. Born August 20, 1826, in Fort Wayne, Mr. Peltier was the son of James and Angeline Peltier, and a brother of the late Louis Peltier, undertaker. He later went to New Haven. Surviving are the widow, Catherine Peltier, and three daughters, Matilda Blaising, Fort Wayne; Miss Faustine Peltier, at home, Mrs. H. T. Timme, New Haven. Will Peltier, Fort Wayne undertaker, a great nephew. Mr. Peltier was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church. Funeral arrangements have not been made. /
