Man gets life for killing wife The judge ordered Jonathan P. Eisenhauer of Jackson Twp. to an extra 30 to 60 years for firing at police and using his daughter as a shield. By LES STEWART Staff Writer A judge on Wednesday sentenced a 31-year-old Jackson Township man to spend the rest of his life behind bars life for killing his wife inside their home in February. Judge Charles T. Jones Jr. also ordered Jonathan P. Eisenhauer to serve an additional 30 to 60 years in state prison for firing at state troopers and using his daughter as a shield during a shootout with police. Eisenhauer pleaded guilty Eisenhauer last month to first-degree murder and more than 40 other counts, avoiding the possibility of facing the death penalty if he had gone to trial and been convicted. Eisenhauer was sentenced for shooting Eisenhauer 33-year-old Andrea Eisenhauer to death inside their home at 496 Kutztown Road. At 4:11 a.m. on Feb. 11, Eisenhauer called 911 to report that he was God and had shot his wife, according to a police affidavit. When troopers arrived, Eisenhauer fired a rifle at them from a second-floor window. State police returned fire. None of the was injured, but bullets struck a neighbor's home. No one in that home was injured. When he stopped shooting, Eisenhauer retreated inside the house, then appeared at the front door holding his 10-year-old daughter over his shoulder, 1 using her as a shield, according to the affidavit. He also yelled at troopers that he was going to kill them. State police shot Eisenhauer, wounding him in his right shoulder. When troopers entered the house, they found him on the first floor. Eisenhauer tried to resist arrest and was subdued by troopers. State police found the body of Eisenhauer's wife in the kitchen with multiple gunshot wounds. The couple's daughter also was found in the home with injuries to her face and foot. The family dog also was shot dead. On Wednesday, Eisenhauer said nothing before he was sentenced. But Andrea Eisenhauer's father, William Burchill, had plenty to say. See LIFE, page 5A
