Francis FrancisCrowninshield Marblehead Yachtsman Dies at Delaware Home MONTCHANIN. Del., May 19- Boardman Crowninshield, 81, formerly of Boston and Marblehead, died here today at his home, "Eleutherean Mills." Graduate of Harvard in 1891, he was an international yachtsman. For many years he owned and sailed the famous schooner, Cleopatra's Barge. Mr. Crowninshield born in New York April 22, 1860. the son of Benjamin W. and Katharine M. (Bradlee) Crowninshield. He attended St. Paul's School, Concord, N. H. During the Spanish- -American War he rode with Troop K. of Roosevelt's Rough Riders. He was in the Cuban campaign and the battle of San Juan Hill. In 1900 he married Louise Dupont who survives him. together with a brother, Benjamin W. Crowninshield of Boston. For many years the Crowninshields maintained homes on Marlborough st.. Boston, and Peaches Point, Marblehead. A number of years ago they established homes | in Bocagrande, Fla., and Wilmington, Del. Many of yachting trophies which Mr. Crowninshield won are at the Eastern Yacht Club. Marblehead. Among them is a cup he ad dan American crew brought back from Spain. Cleopatra's Barge. A big black schooner, anchored for many years at the entrance to Marblehead Harbor during the yachting season. She was named after an early commercial vessel in the Crowninshield family of Salem. The yacht was sold several years ago and renamed the Gee Gee. Services for Mr. Crowninshield will be Saturday afternoon at 2 in Christ Church, Christiana Hundred. Delaware.
