' Girl's Body Found in Cambridge An attractive, 22-year-old girl, a graduate student at Harvard, was found dead in her blood-spattered apartment at 6 University rd., Cambridge, this afternoon, and police said they believe she was murdered. The body of Jane Britton, of Needham, was discovered lying face down on the floor of her fourth-floor apartment, where she lived alone. Police said she was clad in her night clothing and that she had suffered an injury to her head. Investigators were awaiting the arrival of Dr. Arthur McGovern, Middlesex County medical examiner. A major in anthropology at the Harvard graduate school, Miss Britton had been scheduled to take an examination this morning. When she failed to show up, a friend stopped by at her apartment, found the door unlocked and discovered her lying on the floor. Across the hall neighbors of the victim described her as a "very nice, quiet girX" Handling the initial investigation into the death were Cambridge police detectives William Durette, Michael Giacoppo, and Fred Centrella.
