What lure was used to entice her into a car 200-yards from her Ogunquit . summer residence, sending police on a 14-day search which culminated with her body being found beneath a pile of hay in a deserted barn about six miles from home at Kennebunk Saturday afternoon? With the search for the daughter of Brig. Gen. and Mrs. Peter Olenchuk ended even though, police said Sunday night positive identification had not been completed a new search has begun , for the slayer of the 13-year-old, 80-pound redhead who loved fishing and her pet dog. The child was found lying face up in a corner of the large barn with a quarter inch rope tied around her neck. Assistant Attorney' General Richard S. Cohen called it a homicide and said several leads were being checked out. The deserted barn partially filled with hay, is off Lower Brown Street between U.S. Routes 1 and 9 near the Mousam River. Assistant caretaker of the Riverhurst estate, Peter Gunn, along with three other estate workers, was attracted to the barn Saturday noontime when they noticed a strong decomposition odor emanating from it. Accompanied by Kennebunk Police Officer George G. Le-Barge, the trio returned to the barn and discovered the girl beneath the hay. Police were awaiting the arrival of records on the Olenchuk girl Sunday night from Joliet, 111., to make positive identification. In the meantime, tentative funeral arrangements were being made by Bibber Memorial Chapel at Kennebunk. Not Sexually Assaulted A police spokesman at Kittery said that State Patho-logist Dr. Irving Goodoff appeared satisfied at this point in the autopsy that the girl had not been sexually assaulted. Details on how long the girl had been dead were expected to be known later. One officer presumed that the girl had been dead since the day she was picked up Aug. 9. He added that it was just an assumption. The road to the large estate is blocked by a length of chain and a padlock. A member of the caretakers family said there was no possible way a car could have been driven past it or under it. Cohen said the area near the barn had been visited by campers recently. He dismissed a report that the campers were 'hinpies. (UPI)-A scholarship fund for student pursuing a musical career will be established by the parents of Mary Catherine Olenchuk, 13-year-old daughter of an Army general who was slain near her parents Ogunquit, Maine, summer home, it was announced Sunday. Brig. Gen. and Mrs. Peter Olenchuk said in a statement issued through Pease Air Force Base here, that funeral services for their daughter would be held Tuesday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Mary Catherine Olenchuk Memorial fund to bo usedHlor scholarship assistance to students pursuing studies in music, the statement said. Details of the fund and where checks can be mailed will be provided , later, the statement ' said. . The statement did not say where the funeral will be held.
