Laura, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sippel, was born on August 21, 1905. She helped her parents on the farm until she was 29 years old. In 1934, she went to work for Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Reynolds and their son, Richard. Mrs. Reynolds was ill at the time and passed away two years later. Laura stayed on at the apartment and worked for Mr. Reynolds and cared for Richard. When Mr. Reynolds passed away in 1943, Laura cared for Richard until he entered High School. She then moved into her house at 406 W. College St. and worked at Wards in the receiving room for several years. Laura loved children, but had none. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, baking, fancy work, fishing, working on the farm, and all her birthday clubs. Laura had many good friends and belonged to St. Theodore's Catholic Church. She was married to Carl C. Laura Knudsen Knudsen on June 5, 1965, and they lived at 810 S. Newton. After Carl passed away Nov. 3, 1974, Laura moved to the Sunset Apartments on May 21, 1978. Laura is survived by: three sisters, Louise Kirby of Cottage Grove, Minn., Julia Hanson of Mason City, Iowa, and Irene Enstad of Albert Lea; her brother, Robert Sippel of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her father, William Sippel, on April 24, 1946; her mother, Mary Sippel, on Dec. 16, 1969; her husband, Carl; and her brother, Albert, in 1936. Blessed be her memory.
