King of Denmark Says He'll Wear Jewish Star STOCKHOLM (INS) King Christian X of Denmark was reported yesterday to have told Danish Lutheran leaders that if the Germans wanted to introduce the yellow star for Jews in Denmark, he and his whole family would wear it "as a sign of the highest distinction." The 73-year old, six-foot, six- inch monarch empahtically re fused to form a government under the direction of the Nazis and declined to condone any form of Jewish persecution in Denmark. It was not the first time the king has taken a courageous stand against the Nazis in behalf of the Jews. When the Nazis pressed Denmark for the adoption of anti-Jewish measures, similar to those imposed in other occupied countries, the king in full regalia and with a royal escort nonchalantly attended a special service at the biggest synagogue in Copenhagen.
