WEDDING OF INTEREST IS SOLEMNIZED D Miss Mary Alcorn Becomes Bride of Mr. John Mather In Pretty Ceremony Asquith United Church was the scene of a wedding on Monday afternoon o'clock, when pretty, Miss Mary Alfreda Alcorn, daugh-| ter of Mrs. W. Alcorn and the late Mr. J. Alcorn, became the bride of Mr. John Andrew Mather, only son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. J. Mather of Asquith. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. H. T. Alcorn of Melville, to the strains of the Wedding March from Lohengrin, played by Miss Marie Mather, sister of the groom. The bride was a lovely picture in her wedding gown of white silk spider web lace over taffeta, featuring, a floorlength skirt she bolero jacket with sleeves. From a halo of orange blossoms fell a floor-length veil of white silk embroidered net. She wore elbow length lace mitts and carried a bouquet of roses and carnations. Her only ornament was a gold locket worn by her grandmother on her wedding day 70 years ago. Attending her as bridesmaid was her sister, Miss Adele Alcorn, who wore an attractive frock of Alice blue taffeta, with doll hat, lace mitts and shoes in A delicate pink. Her bouquet was pink and white carnations and 'mums. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. J. Ross of Saskatoon and the officiating clergyman was the Rev. Mr. Banks. Messrs. C. Mather and T. Peat as ushers. During the signing of the register Mr. Albert Cooke, accompanied by Miss Dorothy Peat, sang "Until." The Asquith Girl Guides, of which Miss Alcorn was captain, formed a guard of honor as the bride and groom left the church, Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. The room was decorated in pink and white while the bride's table was covered with a lace cloth and centred with a threetiered wedding cake embedded in pink tulle. Tall pink tapers and bud of carnations completed the effect. Assisting with the serving were Mesdames W. Reilly and H. T. Alcorn and Misses M. Cooke, N. Friend and D. Peat. For travelling the bride chose a rust colored drindl dress, featuring gold ornaments and brown trimmings. With this she wore an extremely smart coat of tan and brown English fleece with fox col-| la lar. Her accessories were in brown. Mr. Mather attended the University of Saskatchewan here some years ago, graduating in pharmacy and later obtained a position in the City Park drug store. The bride was primary teacher at Asquith School. The young couple will reside at Kinistino.
