MATHER THE PASSING OF MR. Thomas Walter John Mather, age 95 years of 1319 15th Street, E., Saskatoon, occurred in a Saskatoon hospital on June 2nd, 1973. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6th at 4 p.m. from Park Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Beau Wallace. Memorial gifts may be made to the Asquith United Church, Asquith, Sask. Surviving are one son Jack of Kinistino, Sask., four daughters, Mrs. R. 0 (Marjory) Burwell of Asquith. Sask., Mrs. D. C. (Jean) Acker of Saskatoon, Mrs. L. W. (Marie) Petterson of Kinistino, Mrs. K. G (Isabelle) Campbell of Kinistino, Sask., also six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one brother, William Mather of Moose Jaw, Sask., four sisters, Mrs. H. (Lillian) Dickey of Carman, Man., Mrs. H. (Jessie) Shaw, Mrs. C N. (Mae) Trask and Mrs. R. L. (Nell) Parker, all of Saskatoon. Mr. Mather was predeceased by his wife Margaret on March 12th, 1972. A resident of Saskatoon for the past 12 years, Mr. Mather was born in Peterborough, Ont., May 14th, 1878 and moved at on early age with his family to Morden, Man. In 1904 he moved to Saskatoon and in 1906 to Asquith where he homesteaded and was one of the early pioneers. On July 15th, 1908, he married Margaret Isabelle McKenzie at Moosomin, Sask. Ho WAS town clerk of Asquith for a number of years and was active in the Canadian Order of Foresters, Asquith Lodge A.F and A.M. No. 146, the Asquith United Church and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. In 1938 he moved to make his home in Kinistino and resided there until 1961 when he moved to make his home in Saskatoon.
