Cheryl H. Emery, 54 SKOWHEGAN - Cheryl H. Emery, 54, of Skowhegan died on July 9, 2003 at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. She was born in Lewiston on May 13, 1949. Cheryl graduated from Skowhegan Area High School, Class of 1967 and graduated from the University of Maine at Gorham receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in teaching. During her college years she won the Miss Maine Pageant and became Miss Maine. Following college she taught for two years in the Gorham area then started working in the pageant field. She was involved in all aspects of pageantry from coordinating, organizing, and running many different types of pageants throughout the State of Maine for many years. She was formerly married to David Emery and used to run and operate Emery's Studio in Waterville and in Gorham for many years. In later years she was a homemaker. She is survived by her step-father, Oscar Walker; a step-brother, Percie Walker; an aunt, Helen Yeaton, all of Skowhegan; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many close friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Marion Walker; an uncle, Clarence Yeaton; and step-sister-in-law, Loretta Walker. A graveside memorial service will take place on Monday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at the Southside Cemetery, Skowhegan with Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.
