HACKED BODY TAKEN FROM BERRY PATCH Wife of North Randall Mar. shall Vanished Night Of June 16 IDENTIFIED BY MATE Police Learn Slayer Attempted To Hide Crime With Quicklime HUDSON, July 24- -The decapitated body of A modishly-dressed woman which was found in the undergrowth of an isolated blackberry patch on the outskirts of the Cleveland boy's farm near here last night, today was identified as that of Mrs. Myrtle M. Smith, 35, wife of Clyde Smith, North Randall marshall. Identification of the body of the murdered woman was made by her husband through an Amethyst ring a string of pearl beads, and her shoes. Mrs. Smith went for a ride in the family automobile on the evening of last June 16, according to Smith. She was alone at the time. No word ever received from her nor was she ever seen since that night. Finds Mutilated Body The automobile was found two days later at Bedford. It was not damaged. Smith said he and his wife had not quarreled that night or at any time previously. He said he was at a loss to explain either his wife's disappearance or her murder, Mrs. Smith's mutilated body was found last night by Clarence Collins, a 13-year-old boy, who had gone to the patch to pick berries for his mother. The head of the woman, its features unrecognizable, was found lying about ten feet away from the body, One of the woman's legs was also severed. Coroner D. M.
