U. S. Recognition Of Annexation Of Austria Withheld WASHINGTON. March 19 (U.P.)-Secretary of State Cordell Hull indicated today the United States will not, for the present at least, recognize the legality of Germany's annexation of Austria. The indication came after Austrian Minister Edggar Prochnik had advised Hull that the affairs of the Austrian legation have been absorbed by the German embassy. Hull Indicated the state department will treat the German embassy as the presentative mission of Austria but will go no further toward recognizing the union.
