"I don't understand what's going on," Fielder said with a humble chuckle. "I'm basically thrilled. I can't say anything bad is going on. "I'm not trying to hit the seats. I'm trying to help the team win games. I feel good. I'm going up trying to hit the ball hard and not overswing." On his fifth-inning visit to Swindell, Wiley relayed manager John McNa-mara's instructions: Don't throw a pitch on the middle or outer part of the plate that Fielder could drive. Throw pitches that would either be inside strikes or miss the strike zone. Swindell followed orders for three pitches.
