Maxine Lynn, Spearfish, daugh- Thursday evening. Miss Goodrich received her degree from the college of science, literature and the arts where she majored in journalism.

Henry Laitala, a staff sergeant in the army engineers, is in Lead for a visit with his sisters and other relatives while on a 21-day sick leave. Henry left here with the national guard unit in February, 1941, and has seen 22 months overseas duty in the Pacific area. He was returned to the states in January after being stricken with a tropical fever. He arrived in Lead Wednesday evening from Ft. Logan, and will return there at the completion of his sick leave.

Patrick's dance for Elks and their ladies, will be held at the lodge home this evening, with a lively time in prospect. Good music has been secured for the dance and preparaions have been made to welcome a large crowd. A good advance ticket sale has been had for the St. Patrick's dance to be given tonight at the city auditorium by the Deadwood American Legion post. Good music end entertainment features will be provided and the dancing public is assured an enjoyable time.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Baker, of Spearfish, are the parents of a son born yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's hospital. Mr.

and Mrs. Harold Hunt returned from Lafayette, Tues-day to visit Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hunt and friends in Deadwood. Harold Hunt graduated recently from Purdue University, where he had been taking a naval electrical course.
