George Ruttan, A second solution is to use fabrics that are blends of cot ton, linen, and rayon. But here the amount of fiber in the blend or any applied finishes will determine success or failure. Two other remedies are the anti-static finishes and fabric softeners now on the market Some anU-static finishes may be added to the wash water, others are sprayed on. Commercial softeners addec to each wash are helpful but their accumulation on the fabric surface may eventually produce grayness. Wool Payments Apply to Sales Before April 1 Wool growers were reminded today that the 1960 program payments, to be made this summer, will be made only on wool and unshorn lambs which marketed before March 31, 1961. That is the closing for the 1960 program. Harry L.

Nicholson, chairman, Oswego County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, also pointed out that applications for tucb payments under the 1960 wool program must be filed before the end of April 1961. He emphasized that adequate records on the sales must support that information on the ayment applications. For in- tance, producers' sales for shorn wool should show name and address of buyer, date of sale, name and addresa of producer, net weight of wool sold, and net proceeds to producer after normal marketing deductions. Payments to producers for he 1960 marketing year will 'ollow the same methods employed for the 1959 year. Shorn payments will be equal to a percentage of each producer's cash returns from wool sales.

The percentage--to be announced later this year--will be that required' to raise the national average price received by all sroducers for shorn wool dur- ng the marketing year up to he incentive price of 62 cents er pound. Lamb payments will made each producer who sells ambs that have never been horn The payments will be a rate per hundredweight of ive animals marketed to com- jensate for the wool on them a basis comparable" to the ncentive payment per pound of horn wool. Under the 1959 wool program, growers in Oswego County last ear received a total of $748.33 incentive payments earned under the marketing year ended March 31, 1960.
