iy THIB MILWAUKEE NEWS, Conn. Denster moved to strike ont $45 for tbe bridge tenders of Walker's Point bridge, and insert $50. Carried. The salary of the bridge tender of Cherry ptreet bridge at was agreed to. -Cfinn.

Prentiss moved to strike out for palary of chiif of police, and inpert $1,400. Whfch lost as follows: Dcuster, Dreher, Harrington. Kaeppcl, Lander, and Gintz, Johnson, Lerab- ke, Olin, 1 Sullivan, Phillips and -mith-8 The question on concurring in $1,600 put by the chair, and was carried. Ayes 11, noes 5. Coun.

Barke, Deuster, Harringtcn and Prentiss voting in the negative. Conn. Phillips moved to strike oat a proviso inserted by the chairman of the committee on judiciary, in relation to per ceritage for collecting personal taxes. Which was carried. Ayes 14, noes 2.

Conn. Harrington and Prentiss voting in the negative. Lieutenant of police at $800 was agreed Coun. Johnston moved to strike out $700 as salary of the 2d lieutenant and insert $750. Which was lost, and the salary at $700 agreed Coun.

Deuster moved to strike out $750 salary for the two assistants, and insert $700. Which was carried. The salaries of the policemen at $700. The janitor of the city hall at $50, and tie janitor of the municipal court at $45, fWere agreed to. Coun.

Harrington moved to strike oat $600 as salary for the harbor master, and insert $450, Which was lost, and the'salary at $600 was agreed to. Coun. Harrington moved to amend by inserting the following section: Section 5. No officer above designated who has heretofore received as a compensation for his services a certain fixed salary for all service, shall be entitled to receive any part of the salary herein provided, until he shall have first filed with the comptroller a statement quarterly of all feee- received by him during his term of office, other than said salary, and shall have pa.iJ the same into the city treasury. Coun. Phillips moved to reconsider the vote by which the clause fixing the salary of the city comptroller at $2,000 was concurred in. Which was carried. Coun. Phillips moved to strike out $2,000, and insert in lieu thereof $2,500.
