R. L. McCullough are in charge of publicity. Parents Council has donated $50 toward the cost of the party, In past years the Parents Counell has given the graduating, ninth grade class a banquet. This year it was decided to have a different kind of activity for eighth graders due to the change of grade placement.

SPEECH CONTEST Five sixth grade students won a total of seven ribbons in an intra-city speech contest held at Baytown Junior School last Saturday. First place ribbons went to Dale. Reavis for persuasive speaking and Phil Chandler for boys' story telling. Second place ribbons were awarded to Gary Warren for both boys' dramatic interpretation and impromptu speaking and Patti Cochrum for girls' dramatic Third place awards were pre: sented to. Karen Kozloski for girls story telling and for a demonstration speech and to Phil Chandler for poetry, Cedar Bayou had 13 entrants in this contest.

BAYOUETTES New members for the Bayouettes were invited to attend the Bayouctte mecing last Thursday. Leslie Lanham, president, gave a brief introduction on Buyouettes: activities.
