He joined the company as a draftsman in June, 1969, after studying technical drafting and design for two years at Center ville (Iowa) Community College. He entered military service in September, 1969, returning to the Chance 22 months later. He was promoted to his present position Nov. 1.

The certification program under which he qualified is sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers. AET certification requires at least two years of experience as a technician and the endorsement of a professional engineer.
