In 1867, Colby T. Quisenberry purchased home and named it Graceland. He brought Kentucky fine saddle mares and stallions for the beginning of what made Mexico the "Saddle Horse Capital of the World." The Ross Room, an authentic parlor of the period, said to be equal to that in any museum. Marshall was married in 1940 ;o the former Alice Miller, a Salisbury native who moved to Centralia. They have one daughter, Karen, (now Mrs. Robert Frank of Decatur, 111.,) and two grandchildren. Marshall is a former Cen- ralia alderman, served nine years as a volunteer fireman, belonged to both the VFW and American Legion and is a former member and steward of Local 821, IUE. He "got all hopped up about .elevision" when it first came ;o Centralia some 20 years ago. He took a 13-month correspondence course in the subject and then worked as a television-radio repairman in spare time for a couple of years. In recent years, however, he and his wife have spent much of ;heir spare time camping and bicycling. "We have gone through four trailers," Marshall laughed. Mrs. Davenport was promoted to clerk-typist in the company's marketing division. She joined Chance in April. Pemberton advanced to McKelvy Receives AET Certification CENTRALIA—Marvin D. McKelvy, 220 Reed St., Centralia, was notified last week of his certification as an associate engineering technician (AET) by the Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technicians. McKelvy is a detail draftsman on the staff of the A.B. Chance Company's engineering research center here. He joined the company as a draftsman in June, 1969, after studying technical drafting and design for two years at Center ville (Iowa) Community College. ' He entered military service in September, 1969, returning to the Chance Co., 22 months later. He was promoted to his present position Nov. 1. ' The certification program under which he qualified is sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers. AET certification requires at least two years of experience as a technician and the endorsement of a professional engineer. McKelvy's wife, Dorothy, is also a Chance Co., employee. 19 Chance Workers End Red Cross Course CENTRALIA—Nineteen more A.B. Chance Co., employees have earned Red Cross first aid certificates, completing a 10-hour course offered at the company.
