One Demo in Race Six Republicans Seek Congressional Post Three Republican candidates beat deadline for filing for the office of U.S. Representative from the 13th congressional district. Filing petitions of candidacy Friday and Monday were Raymond A. Morley of Northbrook, Edward L. Gordy of Evanston, and William R.

Kearney of Skokie. The newcomers join three other GOP candidates who filed January 15. Filing earlier were State Rep. Marion Burks of Evanston, Robert A. Dwyer of Winnetka, and Donald Rumsfeld of Glenview.

THE SIX-MAN race was made feasible when U. S. Rep. Marguerite Stitt Church Evanston) announced in December she would not seek re-election. She has served the district for more than 11 years.

John A. Kennedy of Winnetka is the lone Democratic candidate for Congress. The 13th district is composed of 5Cith ward and the I townships of Hanover, Barring- I ton, Palatine, Schaumburg, Wheeling, Elk Grove, Northfield, Niles, New Trier and Evanston. A four-man Republican contest shaped up this week for 6th district state representative posts. RUNNING FOR re-election are Rep.

Arthur Simmons of Skokie and Rep. John W. of Park Ridge. They are I opposed by Donald J. Kolp, 113 Berkley Hoffman Estates, and John F.

Stanley of Niles. The 6th district includes the townships of Wheeling, Elk Grove, Palatine, Schaumburg, Barrington, Hanover, Maine, I Niles and Northfield. I State Rep. Bernard Peskin of i Northbrook, a Democrat, is ing opposed in his 6th district I re-election bid by 'Frank Petricca of Park Ridge and David Tarr of Stream wood. REPUBLICANS filing for state central committee in the 13th district were Ralph Church I of Evanston, Alexander MacAr- I thur of Barrington, David Brown of Wilmette, and Roland Moore Jr.

of Skokie. One Democrat is seeking election to his central committee. He is Robert Downing of Glenview. The primary election will be held April 10. Palatine Dancers Plan 3rd Pow-Wow something arlington market The Nanahbuzh Indian Dancers of Palatine will hold their 3rd annual Wachi-Wa Pow-Wow in the gymnasium of the Palatine high school on Saturday, January 27.

This Wachi-Wa (snow dance) will be a contest type of pow-wow during which the many Indian lore groups of the northwest suburban communities will compete for top honors as Champion White Indian Dancers.
