The rating for "M-A-S-H" -a rerun was 20.3. Nielsen says that means in an average minute of the show, 20.3 percentof the country's TV-equipped homes were watching the CBS offering.

ABC had six of the Top 10 programs, including "Too Close for Comfort" in second place, and NBC's highest-rated program, a special 8:30 p.m. Thursday episode of "Diff'rent Strokes," was 10th. An episode of "Cagney and Lacey" on CBS was the week's top-rated new program, No. 13, with a new installment of "Police Squad" on ABC tid for 37th. NBC listed nine of the week's 10 lowest-rated programs.

The bottom five: "Here's Boomer," NBC, No. 65, followed by "Harper Valley," NBC, "Code Red," ABC, and "Lewis and Clark" and "Animalympics," both NBC. Here are the week's 10 highest-rated shows: "M-A-S-H," with a rating of 20.3 representing 16.6 million homes, CBS; "Too Close for Comfort," 19.2 or 15.7 million, ABC; "House Calls," 19.1 or 15.6 million, CBS; "Hart to Hart," 18.8 or 15.4 million, and "Three's Company," 18.4 or 15.1 million, both ABC; "WKRP in Cincinnati," 17.3 or 14.2 million, CBS; "Laverne and Shirley" and Offerings," both 17 or 13.9 million, both ABC; "20-20," 16.6 or 13.6 million, ABC, and "Diff'rent Strokes," 8:30 p.m. special, 16.2 or 13.3 million, NBC. NEW YORK (AP) CBS won the prime-time ratings race for the second straight week with the lowest average score for a winning network in nearly two years, figures from the A.C.

Nielsen Co. showed. CBS' rating for the week ending July 4 12.8 reflected the lower-than-normal TV-viewing level anticipated for a holiday period. ABC was second for the week at 12.5, with NBC third with a rating of 10. The networks say that means in an average minute during the week, 12.8 percent of the nation's homes with television were tuned to CBS.

NBC's rating was the lowest recorded by any network since the week ending Aug. 7, 1980. The previous low for a winner, 12.7, was registered by CBS that week.
