Seventy persons attended the picnic of the association of Sedalia post office employes held Tuesday evening in the grove at Alaplewood Fann, the home of Edward L. Hefferman. Those attending the picnic included P. Mullaley, Sedalia postmaster, and Mrs. Mullaley.

The evening was spent in pitching horseshoe.s, playing basketball a'id croquet. The surplus food from the basket dinners brought by the pantcipants was taken to the Molita Day nursery. The hosts at the picnic were Mr. and Norton Heffernan. Vi.sits In Pennsylvania Ml'S.

George Gill went to Pitts- Pungh, la.st week where she her husband and they enjoyed the Fourth of July hoi Mays together. Mr. Gill is stationed at Grove City, Pa. Mrs. Gill is the former AIiss Lila Ratje of Smithton.

T. Bridges entertained the Glifton City Homemakers club at her home last Wednesday afternoon with eighteen members and two visitors present. Airs. O. T.

Bridges, vice-president, had charge of the meeting owing to the absence of the president. The meeting was opened by singing followed by prayer by Airs, Flffie Dickson. The minutes were read by the secretary. Airs. W.

Ernest Schupp, Air. Schupp and family. The Fourth of July celebration, sponsored by members of the Catholic church at Clifton City Saturday evening was largely attended. A supper followed by a dance wa.s given at Rhineheart school for the Benefit of the Red Cross, Saturday night. This is the third supper given for this purpose and each one has been considered a great success.
