We are pleased to notice the inter est manifested in these literary reunions. They tend to unify and develope the taste and culture for which Bolivar is justly dis tinguished and will tend to place upon a higher plane the literary cultiva'ionof our voung people. The general atmosphere ol good humor communicated sociability and we doubt if anybody went home thinking he did not wish to attend again. To Whom it May Concern. There is a large amount of back-taxes due the State and County upon lands which have been sold for taxes and bought in by the State and County subject to redemption by the owners.

By a recent decision of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, it is held that the liens of the State and County may be enforced and these lands sold by a decree of the Chancery Court barring all equity of redemption and giving good titles to purchasers. These taxes mu.t be paid or resort will be made, after reasonable time, to the Chancery Court to enforce payment according to the principles of this opinion. Tax payers will save their lands and cois by attending to this matter. O. J.

DlTUY, March 10th 1SS0. Attorney for State. "The King's Tour." As ihe good people of Bolivar and vicinity are excited over the "game of fifteen," we present below the magic square, which will prove equally as interesting as the game mentioned 1 30 47 52 5 23 43 54 48 51 2 20 41 53 6 27 31 43 49 4 25 8 55 42 50 3 32 45 56 41 20 7 S3 G2 15 20 9 24 30 5S 16 19 34 6V 40 57 10 33 63 14 17 36 21 12 59 38 13 35 64 13 60 37 22 11 This square is formed by the move of a knight across the chess-board. T. Stevens; formerly a citizen of Bolivar. At the residence of N. Z. Smart, near Grand Junction, Hardeman County, January 15, 1S80, Mrs.

R. F. Valentine, age 64 years, 8 months and 11 days. She professed faith in Christ in 1852, and was baptised by Rev. M.

Ball, into the fellowship of Canaan Baptist church, Benton county, September 1st 1S52. From that time until her death her life was one of piety, and her conversation godly. She was afflicted with severe pain the last four years of her life on earth, which she suffered with almost unexampled fortitude; every hour's suffering was a call to Christ's dear Blood-washed child, "come up from day to day, on wings of faith she rose higher and higher until her dear God in whom she trusted called, saying "it is enough, come away." She leaves a kind husband and many relatives and friends to mourn her loss. May her happy spirit make one in our family circle to tench us the way of Salvation is my prayer for Christ sake. Amen.
