1 P-TA President Gives Luncheon For Board Members Carrying out a color scheme representing the. school colors jof yellow and blue, Mrs. Earl Tuttle, president of the Broadway P-TA, gave a lovely luncheon at her home, 221 6th avenue, last Thursday for members of her board. Mmes; Stanley: Allen Arid Duff Watrbus Attend Conference The publicity conference held last Wednesday in the Los Angeles Edison building was attended by Mesdames Duff Watrous and Stanley Allen, both of the Culver City grammar school P-TA.

A very interesting talk was given by Katherine Sinks, woman's editor of the Glendale News, who advised publicity dhair-men to use common sense and play fair in dealing with newspaper editors. An amusing and informative play -was presented by the Long Beach council of Parents and titled The Society Editor Takes It on the Chin. (Ye ed would have liked to have been present to make a few well-chosen comments of her own.) Mrs. Alexander Stopped, editor of the First district Herald, gave a talk on inside publicity. Sixteen presidents attended the conference with their chairmen.

Other conferences attended during the past month by P-TA members were the radio conference on May 16; the membership conference on May 22; the financial conference on May 23, and the motion picture conference on May 23. Attending the first was Mrs. H. J. Olson; the second had Mrs.

F. W. Harrington; at the third were dam Howard Lawrence, C. T. Johnson and Archie Henline, awl at the fourth was Mrs.

R. W. Stillwell. Culver-Palms USO Gets Volunteers From 2 Auxiliaries The American Legion auxiliary provided the refreshments- recently for the Culver-Palms USO canteen. Supervising was Rosa Forrester with helpers Irene Philips and Paula Ryke.

Marie McKinley- took over as information hostess. Last week United Veterans Republic auxiliary served in the canteen. Supervising was Ruth Lex while Margaret Long was the junior hostess in charge. Information hostess was Dorothy Flckerson; Pauline Cummings and Jtosa Forrester helped with the serving.
