Hughes, Lenard Carter, Barbara J. Jackson, Ellis Dendy, Shirley Martin, Chris Lenton Hart to Willie Forrest and Ruth B. Forrest, 30 acres ANNUAL REPORT The turn of each year is an appropriate occasion to report the major developments in the past twelve months at Greenwood Savings and Loan Association and to look ahead for the coming year. In spite of the tight money situation which existed in 1966, the Greenwood Savings and Loan Association showed a marked increase in assets, reserves, total loans made, total loans outstanding, total dividends paid and total savings. During the year 1966, total savings invested with us was $5,487,575.39, and withdrawals were $3,787,570.12, or a net increase in savings for the year of $1,700,005.27.

Our savings as of December 31, 1966 amouted to During the year, dividends paid to savers were increased from AVa per annum to 414 per annum, effective July 1, 1966. Our savers were paid the highest dividend that has ever been paid by the Greenwood Savings and Loan Association in its 46 years of operation. Total dividends paid our 6,825 savers was $735,577.57. Reserves now stand at $1,627,607.39, another all time record for Greenwood Savings and Loan Association. In part because of "tight money" the real estate market during 1966 was slower than it has been for some years.

However, in the past year Greenwood Savings and Loan Association invested $3,358,229.12 in mortgage loans to 353 borrowers. Total loans outstanding as of December 31, .1966 was $18,510,281.21. As of December 31, 1966 total assets stand at $21,475,232.18, an increase of $1,646,670.71 over the previous year. Considering the market conditions during the year, Greenwood Savings and Loan Association has had a most successful and satisfactory year. We generally look for a better savings year in 1967, with home mortgage money in slightly greater supply by the second half of the year.

Many of our savers will wish to avail themselves of the increased coverage on accounts insured by the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, which was raised from $10,000 to $15,000 by recent action of Congress. Because of the improved outlook for savings, we anticipate a somewhat more plentiful supply of home credit in 1967, particularly in the second half of the year. We are more than grateful for the privilege of serving our customers and friends and are determined to serve you even better in the future. Respectfully submitted Jack Lawrence, President near Ninetv Six. $3,000.
