TV icon Henry Winkler returns to the boob tube in another CBS Monday-night comedy, "Out of Practice." He will portray Stewart Barnes, the patriarch of a family of doctors. Christopher Gorham stars as Stewart's son Ben, a couples' counselor who binds the family together. The cast also includes Stockard Channing and Jennifer Tilly. It looks as though The Eye is banking on the success of shows like "CSI" in the drama department.

Like the new series "Criminal Minds" follows an elite team of crime solvers. Led by Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), the special FBI squad profiles the country's most twisted criminals in the hopes of stopping them before they strike again. The folks at Fox were the earlybirds this season, having premiered many of their new series already. "Prison Break," "Reunion" and "The War at Home" are just a few of the series already on the Fox prime-time schedule, but the network still has a couple of shows up its sleeve. "Killer Instinct" will delve into the bizarre with a look inside the San Francisco Police Department's Deviant Crime Unit.

Haunted by the memory of his dead partner, Det. Jack Hale (Johnny Messner) pushes the boundaries with the reluctant support of his boss, Lieut. Matt Cavanaugh (Chi Feature Lee stars in NBC's "My Name is Earl," just one many new of Jason series premiering this fall McBride). Det. Danielle Carter (Kristin Lehman) shakes things up when she joins the unit.

One-time gospel singer and pop icon Amy Grant will host "Three Wishes," named one of the most promising new series by Entertainment Weekly." Along with Carter Oosterhouse, Eric Stromer and Diane Mizota, the Grammy Award winner will travel to communities all over the United States to make dreams come true. The unscripted series will profile a variety of wishes, from honoring a high school coach to helping a family dealing with a loved one's illness. strange entities that inhabit their homes. will offer viewers a glimpse into the fascinating world of Roller Derby in the 2005-06 series "Roller Girls." The docu-drama chronicles the lives of a maternity room nurse, a debutante, a special-ed teacher, a lost soul and more as they perform in The Thunderdome. Young idealists John and Andre search the streets of America for people in need in the tentatively titled series "Random 1." The real-life show is based on the principle that helping others especially those you don't know makes you feel better about yourself and the world.

What sets "Random 1" apart from other wish-fulfilling series is that the duo must help people without spending a penny. In fact, John and Andre started their "guerrilla philanthropic movement" long before cameras were involved. the unexpected on cable this fall Expect yndicated sitcoms and homeimprovement shows may rule the cable airwaves all summer, but many channels will shake things up in the new season. No doubt inspired by the success of such summer series as ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance," TLC is preparing for its own dance off. "Ballroom Bootcamp" is scheduled to premiere in October.

The intense series takes things one step further than its network counterparts, which feature professional dancers major celebrities.
