With 3 Big Eight indoor Heath fiiOO) Don Meyers (broad jump) 1961 and Ted Woods (440) in I960 Coach Frank Fotts aiao possesses a group of fine whose potential be brought into stout fofps in the next two weeks. With a triangular (Kansas Stiie-Oklahoma State-Nebraska) and the dual triumph over State, the huskers head west unbeaten. Top performance for the, Cornhuskers indoors has been the T.54.7 of Ray Stevens, North Platte, in the 880. This bettered the stadium record of 1:56.1 set by Billy Stone of Oklahoma State in 1960. Bill Kenny, taking second behind Stevens, also was under the record with a 1:55.6.

Rudy Johnson, sophomore back in football, has been a pleasant surprise to Coach Sevigne. Rudy has a mark of in the broad jump and a :06.4 in the 60- yard dash. Unquestionably this is the finest Cornhusker team assembled by Coach Frank Sevigne in his 7 years at Nebraska. Coach Frank Potts, now in his 35th year at Boulder, believes his present crop could develop into one of the finest teams had over the long span. Neither Stevens nor Mike Fleming have been pressed in the mile and both are capable of much better ings than they have established this far.

Victor Brooks, who did 25-2 in the broad jump as a freshman, has been handicapped by a bad leg in the early going. Improvement in the running of John Portee who came within less than a second of Joe Mullins stadium record in the 1000-yard run, also has fed the fires of optimism among Cornhusker track buffs. The relay mark also is not a true picture as Sevigne has not put together his best foursome. Against Iowa State, Gil Gebo and Ray Knaub were both under 49 seconds for their two legs of the race. Outcome of the two meets with Colorado should provide sounder predictions on what can be expected of the two in the Big Eight indoor meet at Kansas City March 2-3.

Tom Russell has already bettered his scoring total of last season by totaling points, two over his previous i high. He tallied 300 last season in 24 games.
