THE MORNING HERALD THE EVENING STANDARD UNIONTOWN, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1 17 PAGE Training Awards Program Offered By Soroptimists A training awards program for women serving to assist mature women in upward mobility and in their efforts toward retraining and entry or re-entry into the labor nj-irket is being offered by the Soroptlmist International of the Americas. The following article appeared in the May IMS McCall's magazine: "At age 38 Lucy Zendejas, who had four children and had never finished eighth grade, enrolled in college. She is now studying sociology, and guidance counseling at the University o( California at Berkeley with financial aid from the Soroplimist Foundations. As the 1974 finalist In the Foundation's annual training awards program, Lucy received a total of $1,500 toward her education. The Soroptimists (blend of wror, the Latin for sister and optimist) are an International women's service organization, one of whose goals Is helping women lead more rewarding lives.

Through their awards, Soroptimists enable mature women to reenter the labor market or upgrade their job levels, by training or retraining in (heir chosen fields. Each year is made available to a maximum of 30 winners from 15 regions." Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white floor length gown of peau silk with a high neckline, long tapered sleeves, A line skirt ending in a train. The neckline, bodice and sleeves were trimmed with imported Chantilly lace and pearls. A deep ruffle of Chanfilly lace edged the hemline and train. Appliques of lace and pearls also accented the train.

Tiers of silk illusion fell from a tiara which was trimmed with pearls and Chantilly lace. She carried a bouquet of while pompons and yellow roses. Matron of honor was Linda Anselt, Dawson R. D. 1.

Bridesmaids ware Debbie McCartney, sister of the bride, Vanderbilt and Kim Ansel, cousin of the bride, Aliquippa. Best man was Ron Mall Connellsville. is at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the Belhlehem-Center Senior High School "Celebration 76" is a very patriotic show dedicated to our nation's two hundredth birthday. This exciting, high-spirited show was conceived by Don Brockett, Pittsburgh's foremost producer-director of musical comedy revues. He is known throughout dinner theaters and industry for his marvelous shows In recent -years. The bicentennial show premiered in Washington, D.

C. in February at the Presidential Bicentennial Conference and became Uie hit of the conference. Since then it has been previewed locally in Pittsburgh's Instate area. An open-air performance In downtown Pittsburgh July was highly acclaimed by the more than 3,000 people In attendance. VCelebration 78" is an hour long show filled with bright original music and snappy choreography.

Mr. Wilson was graduated from Fa reliance -Georges High School in 1971 and Penn State University 'In 1973 with an associate degree In Letters, Arts and Science.
