CHILDREN BENEFIT The Chrysanthemum Ball, sponsored by the Charity Ball Association, will begin with cocktails at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in Villita Assembly Building. Thinking ahead to that formol candlelight dinner dance, given for benefit of local children's charities, are Mmes. Reeves L.

Smith, secretary; Gordon George, vice president and chairman of prizes; Marshall Miller, president; and Campbell Smith, vice president and chairman of decorations, left to right. Four charities have been selected as recipients of funds to be derived from the Chrysanthemum Ball to be given Thursday, Oct. 8, by the Charity Balk Association, Groups which will benefit from this ball and candlelight dinner are the Club of San Antonio, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, the San Antonio Association for Retarded Children and the Young Christian Association. The formal ball, which will be held in Villita Assembly Building, will have music by Henry King and his Orchestra, Thousands of chrysanthemums to he used in the decorations will be arranged in a garden-like setting by the members of the Allied Florist Association of San Antonio. The cocktail hour will begin at 7 p.m.

with dinner served at 8:30. Mrs. Marshall B. Miller is president of the association and Mrs. Meredith Mallory Jr.
