Kanyock, hospital vice president of development and auxiliary executive liaison, spoke about the state Association of Hospital Auxiliaries Conference at Hershey, which she and Urillo attended. Earl Searfoss, HGH board president, commented on the auxiliary's annual report, which was read by Bodgon. He also thanked the auxiliary for its work at the hospital and in the community. A beveled and etched glass gift, recognizing the auxiliary's generosity as a Sustaining Benefactor during the hospital's first capital campaign, was displayed. Urillo welcomed guests and thanked the luncheon committee, Ann Bindus, chair; Mary Louise Roselle, Monica Barletta and Madeline Scarlato. Barletta gave the invocation. A heart-shaped cake, a thank you from the president, was served for dessert and everyone attending took home the potted flowers that served as table centerpieces. The auxiliary will resume evening meetings Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in the hospital's Office and Education Building. High school class reunions scheduled for 1996 will be published bi-weekly in this column. Charlene Montante, vice president of finance for Universal Studios, Hollywood, will be the keynote speaker. Some of the 50 workshops include "Practical Law You Should Share With Your Daughter (or Son)," "Let's Play (Theatre Games)," "Pennsylvania Government: Are You Being Served," and "Humor Your Stress." Acoustic music will be provided by Amy Torchia and Jennie Avilaof Holicong. For more information or to obtain registration forms, call the calendar minute warm-up or stretching period to prevent muscles from cramping. Don't expect results after two or three workouts and choose the days to exercise. Select loose-fitting clothes that are comfortable, especially during the summer months. TOPS warns not to exercise to exhaustion or in extreme heat and allow at least two hours to pass after eating before exercising. People should remember gardening and extra chores help burn extra calories. The Hazleton chapter is calling for a "no-gainer" this week. Angel of the week lost 8Vt pounds and the forbidden passions are peanut butter, eggs and soda. The chapter will host a special guest this week. She'll talk about exercise and give a demonstration on how she keeps her shape. TOPS PA 1216, Hazleton, advises people to see a physician to start a healthy eating and exercise program and set a goal weight. A regular exercise program is vital to losing weight combined with a healthy eating program. An exercise program should be done at least three times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes per session. TOPS advises to try a variety of exercises that are convenient and fun, and to start out slow beginning gradually with a five screws anchored directly into the wall studs, not plaster, tile orwallboard. Store cleaning products out of the reach of young children. Always put the lids back on immediately after using them. All medicines should be clearly labeled.
