As Act to amend chapter two hundred and sixty eight of tho laws of eighteen hundred and eighty tiro, entitled "An act to provide for the incorporation of the alumni of colloge3 and universities in the state of New York." Passed April 30, 1884 three flf tha being present. The People of the State of New York, represented In Senate aud Assembly, do cuact as follows Section 1. Section four of chapter two hundred and sixty eight of the lawa of eighteen hundred and eighty, two, entitled "An act to provide for the incorporation of the alumni of colleges and universities in the state of New York," is hereby emended so as to read as follows Sec. 4. The corporations formed under the provisioni of this act shall bavo power to create, manage and con trol a fund to bo known as an alumni fund, and Jok that purpose to take aud acqulro real and personal by gift, devise or purchase, tho net annual ln como of which shall not exceed tho sum of ten thou sand dollars, aud tho incomo thereof way be used Tor and applied to such object or objects connected with such college, colleges or university as such corporation shall direct.

The corporations form fd under the provisions of this act shall alsouava power to elect from among their members such a number of trustees or directors of the college or colleges, oC university to which their members shall respectively belong, as such college, colleges, or university Bb.aU designate; to prepare aud publish from time to tuna an alumni record or directory to prescribe reasonable, terms and conditions upon which their members Bhall be entitled to vote or hold office; to provide for meet) ings and reunions of their members, and for literary and other entertainment at such meetings and re union a to appropriate from their funds a suffloieut Bum to defray the expenses of such meetings and reunions, including the expense of any banquet that may be given at tho ame, provided that ao part of the permanent fund of such corporation, or of the inooma thereor, shiill be appropriated for such purposes; to take such other action and to transact such other busl ness as usually pertain to alumni associations Of col Jc.os nnd universities and to adopt such a conHtitxu tion and bylaws aud such rules aud regulations aa may be necessary or proper for their government and regn latiou, aud for the accomplishment of the objects of their incorporation, not inconsistent with the laws of this state. This section shall not apply to any college or university whose alumni are now empowered to i elect trustees In accordance with any special act here tofore passed by the legislature. Sec. 2. Section five of Baid chapter two hundred and Blxty eight of the laws of eighteen hundred and eighty two is hereby amended bo as to read as follows Sec.

5. Tho corporations formed under the protf sions of this act shall elect annually from their mem bers such a number of directors, not less than nine, thoir constitution and bylaws shall prescribe, and from the directors so choseu shall elect a president and a secretary aud treasurer who shall be respectively tha president, and treasurer both of tbe corporation and of the board of directors. Said corporations may alio elect such othor officers aud committees as their con Blitutioua aud bylaws Bhall prescribe. But no officer, director or member of committee of snch corporation, except its secretary and treasurer, shall receive any comiHHisation for his service as such officer?" director OC inoiiiber of a committee, except the same be granted by two thirds voto of all tho members present at any regular meeting of the corporation. The tiou of the secretary and treasurer of any such corpora tion shall be fixed by the board of directors, and Bald board may rofm to grunt any compensation to fiuoh secretary and treasurer.

In case a vacancy shall occur from any cause in said board of directors, or lu any. office of said corporation, or board of directors, tho samoRball bo filled by said board of directors, or by. tbe executive committee of tho same, if empowered bo to do by the constitution or bylaws of the corporation, and the person or peivous chosen to fill such vacancy Bhall hold office until his or her successor Bhall bV chosen at a regular meeting of said corporation. Sec. 3.

Section seven of said chapter two hundred and sixty eight of tho laws of eighteen hundred and eighty two is hereby amended so as to read as follows Sec. 7. Every corporation formed under tho pro visions of thia act shall prepare annually a report, which shall bo verified by the affidavit of an offices thereof, and which shall show the whole amount of tha. real and personal property owned by said corporation 1 wboro it is located, or how and where invested; tht amount aud nature of the property acquired during tha year Immediately preceding tho date of said report, and tho purposes, objects or persors to or for whioh such application, appropriation or expenditure had be ou made. Such report shall bo presented to said corpoiation at its annual meeting, or at any special meeting appointed lor that purpose, and on to red in tha miuntes of its proceedings, and shall, within thirty days thereafter, bo filei in the clerk's office of tha cuiuity In which said college or university Is located.

All tbe right, titlo and interest of thai people of the state of New York in all that cer tain lot, piece or parcel of laud situate, lying and being in the Twenty third Ward of the city of New York, (formerly MorriBauia in the county of Westchester) and state of New York, and being the east naif of a certain lot which Is known and designated by tho numbot two hundred aud sixty one, on a map entitled, "Map of the village of Melrose, South," situated in the Manor of Morrisania aforesaid, filed in thf office of the clerk of the couuty of Westchester, at White Plains, said lot two hundred and sixty one oast half, being bounded and described from said map as followB, Northwardly by (louverneur (now On!
