JOURNAL, April 18,1984 Actor cut in hotel altercation HONOLULU (AP) Actor Jan-Michael Vincent received a small cut on his jaw when a fellow-guest at a report hotel on the Island of Kauai engaged him in a dispute, police say. The man, identified as Lawner Knox, 36, of Houston, recognized Vincent at the Waiohai Hotel on Sunday and went to the actor's room, began asking him about acting and became belligerent, police said. Knox asked the 33-year-old Vincent to punch him. Vincent refused, but an acquaintance staying with the actor, Craig A. Colich, 30, struck Knox, who later left, police said.

Later, Vincent encountered Knox by the hotel pool and Knox struck the actor, apparently cutting his jaw with a ring, police said, Knox was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, and Colich was arrested on the same charge later in the day after Knox filed a complaint against him, police said. Vincent, of Malibu, has apcared in nearly 20 films, including "Hard Country" and "The World's Greatest Athlete." "Trail of the Pink Panther," made up clips from previous Pink Panther movies after star, Peter Sellers died, was a box office failure. "Curse of the Pink Panther," which did not have Sellers as the bumbling Inspector Clouseau, also performed poorly. "Victor-Victoria," the 1982 movie that starred Ed wards' wife, Julie Andrews, brought the studio-a moderate $10 million.
