Charges ore pending further investigation, Chief Jones Said today, The last accident fatality in Clute occurred about the same time last' year, 1965, when a youth was killed on Kyle Road in a one car accident. (Continued from Page 1) ment is the estimated cost to the district for 1965-66 above the cost required to continue participating in the GRETA (KUHT) program. Actual cost to the district, above the GRETA participation, is estimated at $6,000 for 1966-67, $13,000 for 1967-68, and $45,000 for 1968-69 and thereafter. For the current year, Title I funds amounting to $80,000 are available, with $50,000 in federal money budgeted for the program in both the 196667 and 1967-68 years. Dr.

Jackson anticipates that the federal funds should not be counted on after the third year. Plans are to eventually have a 23-inch television set available 'for each classroom. The sets will receive only the programs from the school transmitter and regular home television would not receive the school telecasts. Henry Thomas, coordinator of instructional media for the Spring Branch School District, showed a film to the Board and discussed the Spring Branch educational television system. Thomas said he felt television "will probably be the greatest tool to enter the field of education." He pointed out several ways that it can be used in the classroom and the advantages it has over regular teaching methods.

Programs can be taped and run as many times as necessary to Insure all classes an opportunity to see them. No time is lost inthe classroom while ateacher prepares a projector, darkens the room etc. With television all the teacher needs to do is plug in the set and flick the switch. He also pointed out that films can be designed to fit exactly with the local curriculum. Thomas said there was a great tendency for television to tie the whole district together.

There Is another advantage to teachers. They have the opportunity to see an expert teacher at work. Ed Milling of the Taft Co. also discussed the engineering phase of the program. His frlm had been instrumental in preparing the cost figures for the local plans.

He said that the flat terrain of the Brazosport district was an advantage and that 7.6 miles is the greatest distance any school would be from the proposed transmitter site. Such television systems can carry up to 25 miles satisfactorily, he said. Following the presentation of the film and other information, Board member A. F. Shorkey moved approval of Dr.

Jackson's recommendation that the program be adopted. Dr. L. S. Richardson, outgoing superintendent, commended the Board on this action.
