More than S25.000 in additional funds much of it unreported campaign contributions aKo was run through the account during 1973 and 1974. sources told The Washington Star.

The account was set up in 1973 by Minchew. According to sources, both Talmadge and Minchew had authority to write cheeks on the account. But. according to one source familiar with the account, the checks bearing Talmadgp's endorsement were signed with an automatic pen device used by the senator office to duplicate his signature. Talmadge, in a statement responding to questions by The Star, confirmed the account at the Riggs National Bank, but said he did not learn of it until the records were subpoenaed by a federal grand jury here and the Senate Ethics Committee.
