EDT The Saturday, May P. EDT Belmont Stakes, 15 P. EDT The "Kentucky Derby," the first leg of American racing's 'Triple Crown," for years has been one of the world's top sporting events.

It brings together outstanding three-year-old thoroughbreds in a mile-and-a-quarter contest from the famed Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. The second outstanding race is "The Preakness," a mile-and-three-eights raced from Pimlico Race Track in Baltimore, Maryland, for three-year-olds, with a purse of $100,000 added. The last of the "Triple Crown" races is the "Belmont Stakes," raced on a course of a mile-and-a-half for three-year-olds, also caitying a $100,000 added purse. The 'Triple Crown" is a Cavalcade of Sports presentation produced for CBS Television by Judson Bailey, executive producer for the CBS Sports department. The 'Triple Crown" will also be carried by the CBS Radio network.
