J. Coffey at White's chapel tomorrow morning at 10:30. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery. Bangle lived in Southern Califor nia until 1939, when he started working up and down the coast in the construction industry. He was an operating engineer.

He has been in the Bay Area since 1946. His widow, Mary Etta Bangle of Oakland, is the niece of Mrs. Marie Hiner of Chanticleer avenue. He is also survived by a son, Edward C. Bangle of Lewiston, a sister, Mrs.

Pearl Boeck of Hollywood; a brother, John Bangle of California; two grandchildren, Vicki Leanne and Jane Suzanne Bangle of Idaho, and two brothers-in-law, J. W. and R. V. Titus of Santa Cruz.

The session was called by R.

H. Hartman, president of the valley chamber. Jphn Montan-ari. Boulder Creek grocery store owner, is chairman of the merchants committee of the chamber. It was brought out last night that Boulder Creek already has the nucleus of a merchants' group and some preliminary discussion on organization has been held.

Hartman declared that vallev businessmen see the need of such organization to handle certain problems when they arise. Such a pro gram also will assist materially in ine vaiiey-wiae advertising cam paign which will be carried on, the chamber president said. The valley chamber will hold its regular meeting tomorrow night at Ben Lomond library building at a clock at which time Captain T. D. Westfall, Santa Cruz county civilian defense chief, will be the speaker.

Reports will be given on various other matters, including the advertising campaign. Jake Leonard, former assembly man for this district, and now man ager of the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce, will speak at tne valley chamber meeting April 11 on the active merchants' group in his community. Sheviakov Speaks Tomorrow In Better Family Series "The Role of the Father" will be discussed tomorrow night by George V. Sheviakov, lecturer in psychology at San Francisco State college, in the current series of lectures on foundations for better family living. These lectures are being sponsored by the Santa Cruz Council of the Parent Teachers association and the evening school.

Tomorrow night's meeting is the fifth in the series. The final lecture will be held April 5, with Dr. Bertha Mason, San Jose physician discussing the subject of sex education. Sheviakov was for seven years head social worker at the Institute of Child Welfare, University of California. He had a two year fellowship from the Rockefeller foundation, and for five years did research and child guidance in the Laboratory Schools, University of Chicago.

He was assistant superintendent in charge of guidance in Vanport. Oregon, and consultant in guidance for the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. The lecture will begin at 7:30 in the high school auditorium. Members of the council urge fathers to attend as this meeting is particularly addressed to them. Mrs.

Fred Morris will act as moderator while Lee Sims, high school principal, will be the chairman. Snow is never seen in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. Cook's auto, parked near his body, had a dented and torn fender, as though another machine had sjdeswiped it and forced it off the road. Schrader said Walker was arrested as police patrolled the city, searching for a car with damaged right fender. They found Walker's car, which answered this description, in a garage being repaired. It had smears of green paint on the damaged fender, officers said. Cook's car was green.

Walker told investigators his au tomobile fender was smashed in an accident in Hollywood last week The slain man's father, Harold Cook, said his son, daughter-in-law, Doris, also 18. and their baby, born last July, left his home at the little town of Nuevo about 10:30 a.m. yesterday. March 27 W) Search was intensified today for a pretty young mother because of fears that she may have been kid naped by her husbands slayer. Mrs. Doris Trask Cook, 18, has not been seen since the body of her 18-year-old husband, Richard Cook, was found on a lonely road yesterday.

Their eight-month-old baby was playing happily on a blanket near the body of the father, who had been shot to death, when the tragedy was discovered. Police continued to question Sgt. Lawrence J. Walker, 20, a negro of March air force base here who was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon. He carried a stolen .43 caliber pistol, po- ice said.

The air force sergeant was ques tioned for three hours last night and Sheriff's Officer W. W. Wal-rath, chief criminal deputy, said he insisted he knew nothing of the case. After the questioning a sher iffs posse left at midnight to search the area where the car was found. 10 miles south of here.

Steel Company Seeks $1499 For Building Job Complaint on the bond of Leon ard English, Santa Cruz general contractor, has been filed here in the county clerk's office by the San Jose Steel Co. seeking $1499 plus interest for a job at the Watsonvule high school. The plaintiff also names the Em ployes Liability Assurance Corpora tion the surety company, as a party to the complaint. The company claims it furnished labor and material to English amounting to $24,813 and that Eng lish paid $23,813 of this sum, leav ing a total of $1499 unpaid. The bond was for 5155,036.

The company is asking the prin cipal, plus seven per cent interest from November 30, 1950, and the cost of the action. The job was a building construct ed for school purposes, according to a contract between English and the Watsonville joint union high school district. It was completed in December, 1950. A native of Illinois, Beecher Uv ea there many years where he was employed by the Mobile and Ohio railroad company.

Alter coming to California, he lived in Fresno and Bakersfield, where he worked for the Southern Pacific. In Fresno he also was a build ing contractor for nine years. Since coming to Santa Cruz, 21 years ago, Beecher ran a wood and fuel yard on Rodriguez avenue for years until he retired. He is survived by two sons, Bernard A. Beecher and Milliard Beecher; a daughter, Mary Beecher; seven grandchildren and three great-grandcihldren, all of Santa Cruz.
