He offered an additional force of 750.000 men and said the battle performance of those South Koreans who do have arms and training have proved them first class fighting men, worthy of the task. The envoy hit at what he called "cowardly, shameful voices" that advocate a "stalemate under any and all circumstances" in Korea. He said it is inconceivable to his people "that the free world should scuttle and run from Korea, thus surrendering ignomini-ously to the anti-God. anti-Christ despotism of the Kremlin." But even if they are left alone, Yang said, the Koreans "still have the guts to want to fight on against the Red monster" and will go on with that fight to the end. The ambassador's address was prepared for the National Executive Committee of the American Legion but he obviously gave it a broader aim at the American people and their political leaders.
