PennDOT, Lebanon County maintenance, has announced the work schedule for the week as follows: Snow fence is being erected throughout the county. Seventy-five per cent has been erected.

Trucks are having plows and spreaders mounted and graders are having plows mounted for the Dec. 3 snow removal inspection. Loaders are being placed at regular stock piles for snow and ice control. Shoulders are being repaired on LR 38011 Newmanstown area. Shoulders are being stabilized on LR 38029 south side of Lebanon.

Guard fence is being repaired on Route 501 north of Myers town. Patching of pot holes is being done throughout the county. Stores Open Tonight 'til 9 P.M. Shop Tomorrow 'til 5 P.M. Closed Thanksgiving W.

Heller William M. Heller Jr. was honored for his service to the organization in a meeting of Hie Lebanon County COLD Club last night in the Municipal Build ing. In a surprise ceremony, Heller was presented with a distinguished service pin in recognition of his service as chairman of the COLD (Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease) Club. Presentation was made by Mrs.

Rodger Michael, assistant executive director of the local Tuberculosis and Health Society, which sponsors the COLD Club. Heller, who resided at 734 Sally Ann Drive, has served as chairman of the COLD Club since its inception five years ago. He also has been active in visiting homebound members and in many other activities over and beyond the duties of a chairman. Awards were also presented to Mrs. Ella E.

Byie and John Gibson for attending the most meetings in 1974. Presents Program Henry Homan. laocal radio personality, presented a program of radio bloopers, mistakes from various radio shows and by famous person- alties. Members sang Christmas carols and played games. Prizes were earned by Mrs.

Byle, Mrs. Marguerite Biely, John Gibson and Mrs. Charles Trautman. Santa Claus distributed gifts to the members. Mrs.

Michael announced the next meeting on the last Monday in March will be held in the club's new quarters. She was hospitality chairman for the meeting. Now You Know By United Press International On Sept. 6. 1949.

Japan dropped the custom of counting all persons' birth from Jan. 1 of the year of birth and adopted the Western system of birth- dates. HONORED William M. John Garloff, cubmaster, Two Injured On Turnpike Two Lebanon residents were injured when their car reportedly was involved in a hit-and-run accident with a truck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Florence Wentling, 28, 16-R David Drive, sustained bruises, while her son, William Hathaway, 7, same address, suffered a bruise on his head. Both were treated and discharged at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

The accident occurred about 100 miles west of Harrisburg. The Wentling car was towed from the scene. The Arrow of Light, the highest award in cubbing, was presented to Jeff Buchmoyer, and Craig Holzman was Completes Course Airman First Class Sharon R. Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen R. Taylor, 120 S.

Fifth has been graduated from a carpentry course at Sheppard AFB, Tex. She is abeing assigned to March AFB, Calif. She is a 1970 graduate of Cedar Crest High School. advanced to Wetetos.
