Paintings and monoprints on display at Pine Library FAIR LAWN New York artist Tom Boutis will exhibit paintings and monoprints at the Maurice M.

Pine Library Gallery from April 28 to May 28. The exhibition will open with a reception and gallery talk by the artist on Sunday, April 28, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. There is no admission fee. Boutis is essentially a colorist involved in the harmony of hues and tones. In his abstract, lyrical works, curious shapes in lollipop colors float, project, glide or slide, always in mysterious and poetic balance.

Born in New York City, Boutis received his art education at Cooper Union. He has had more than 20 solo shows, including several at the Landmark Gallery in Manhattan. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Canton Art Institute, New York University, the Bocour Color Collection and many others. The Grau-Nallow-Ledeen trio will highlight the second annual spring concert to benefit the Drew University Music Department Scholarship fund scheduled for April 29 at 8 p.m. in Bowne Theatre on the Drew campus.

Admission is $10. Violinist Gideon Grau, cellist Barbara Mallow and pianist Lydia Ledeen will perform Mozarts Piano Quartet No. II in Flat, Brahms Piano Quartet in Minor and Serenade Op. 10 for Strings by Dohnanyi. Violist Catherine Greene will assist the trio.

Art club plans exhibit, sale The Hackensack Art Club will hold its spring exhibit and sale Saturday and Sunday, April 27, 28, in the Womans Club, 359 Union Hackensack. Hours Saturday are 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Charles Brandenburg will judge the paintings and a reception and awards presentation will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday. Visitors may vote for their favorite work.

Door prizes include two paintings by local artists.
