The Rev. John B. Coryell, son of George and Catherine Coryell, was WiUiamston, Jan. 1, born 1870, and passed away March 13, 1942, in Detroit, aged 72 years, two months and 13 days. Mr.

Coryell had been in failing health for the last year and death was due to a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered on March 10. The early years of his life were spent in the vicinity of Willlamston. In 1892 he came to Lenawee county and February 5, 1900, was married to Dora A. Warner of Tipton: For a number of years he was engaged In contracting and building. In 1920 he was ordained a Baptist minister at the Memorial Baptist church in Pontiac and served this church as pastor for two years.

He also was pastor of the Sand Creek Baptist church for five years. In January 1937 he accepted the position as director of boys' work at the Hebrew Christian Mission in Detroit. Under his supervision this department showed remarkable development and was acclaimed as outstanding by a number of Jebrew Mission leaders of the country. Besides the widow he Is surwled by one daughter Ruth, wife of the Rev. Ralph L.
