Ilorodezky admitted ticket sales for the show had been slow, but said transportation problems getting the show into Saskatoon developed, forcing the cancellation. However, less than 4,000 tickets were sold to the show', which featured former Beatle drummer Ringo Starr and a host of well known sidemen. Horo-dezky said refunds for tickets will be made at point of purchase and those wanting refunds should do so as quickly as possible. ioi lTag-A-Long ElayedJodayj GROWING JACKPOT $3400 WS BAMAKO ranisira i GROWING JACKPOT $3570 flHUarantehdPayoutM Attendance All Jackpots Available Unless Previously Won Sponsor Yellowhead Cosmo Club B89-229 88-901 McCall to concentrate on Nightcap duties position as program mana Gordon McCall will be leaving his posit All Jackpots Available Unless Previously Won B88-695 N88-901 PARENTAL ACCOMPANIMENT 7:00 AND 9:15 1 U9-0nW 2 ltt ger of Telecable 10 Television, the community channel, at the end of August to assume full-time duties as artistic director of Nightcap Productions. Lowe agrees to community service work Actor Rob Lowe will be performing in a new venue in an attempt to avoid prosecution for allegedly videotaping a sex scene involving a 16-year-old girl, a prosecutor said in Atlanta. Lowe has agreed to perform 20 hours of community service to avoid criminal prosecution in the case, District Attorney Lewis Slaton said Sunday. Lowe is expected to visit about 20 Los Angeles-area schools during the next two years to make speeches on topics such as drug abuse and the law.

Slaton had been considering charges against Lowe for allegedly videotaping Jan Parsons, then 16, in a sex scene with a woman in an Atlanta hotel room during the 1988 Democratic National Convention. Lowe, 25, is one of 2,600 people to participate in Georgias pretrial intervention program, which Slaton called an alternative to prosecution for young, non-violent first offenders. If he completes the program in the two years time and there are no other problems, hes cleared from prosecution, Slaton said. Lowe remains the subject of a lawsuit by Parsonss mother, Lena Arlene Wilson, who claims Lowe seduced her daughter. Dolores Barclay, ASSOCIATED PRESS FAMOUSPLAYE ivraAD. Bee Gees look for respect on U.S. tour Twelve years after their chart-topping album Saturday Night Fever made them kings of the disco era, the Bee Gees are looking for respect from music audiences across the United States. The brothers Robin, Barry and Maurice Gibb are hoping to put their white-suited, gold chain-wearing days behind them as they embark on their first U.S. tour in a decade this week.

Weve spent too many years on the defensive, and now that were on the attack, it feels a damn sight better, Barry said in this weeks Peo-jle magazine. This band has been around for 30 years, so its a ittle unfair to tag us with the disco label. Paul McCartney made disco records. Rod Stewart did. Even Ethel Merman, which shows you how outrageous the times were.

The brothers of falsetto harmony have faced several trials during the past decade the cocaine-related death of brother Andy Gibb last year, Maurices treatment for alcoholism in 1980 and record company battles that kept them from recording for eight years. Bon Jovi said he wants his day in court to contest a $60 ticket issued March 1. The singer said he went through the light when it was amber.

His father, John Bongiovi, was following close behind in his own car and also was issued a summons. He pleaded guilty and paid his ticket. Red Bank lawyer Richard McOmber said he submitted affidavits with Bon Jovis testimony. He said Municipal Judge William Himelman could make a decision based on those statements and the testimony of police, but his client wants to appear personally. A court date was set for Aug.

Judge Florence Peskoe of Superior Court in Monmouth County, N. told the lawyers to comply with an earlier court order in a lawsuit in which two former "roadies for Springsteen claim they were underpaid. Michael Batlan and Douglas Sutphin also claim they are owed thousands of dollars in overtime from the Born in the U.S.A.

tour in 1984 and 1985. Batlan quit in 1985 and Sutphin was fired that year. Both claim they were full-time employees on call year round and should have been paid at a rate slightly less than band members. Each made about $50,000 a year working for Springsteen. Peskoes order Friday was in response to a motion filed by Stephen Schueler, lawyer for the two men, to make Springsteen and his organization, Thrill Hill Productions, comply with the previous order and turn over financial records, including tax returns from 1973 to 1985.

Peskoe gave Springsteens lawyers 30 days to turn over the records. Plica Riel Mi aide, oi Theatre nvnn mrnoNi welcome NO PASSES FOR THIS ENGAGEMENT.
