"Being a university extension lecturer and Constantly going from city te city and town te town, 1 had unusual opportunities of meeting all classes of the people of England in many sections of the country. I am sure I knew the sentiment of the people en the matter. "President Cleveland's message came te the English peeple like a thunder-bqlt out of a clear sky.

The feeling there was one of unutterable astonish-ment that any trouble could occur between England and the United States. This feeling pervaded all classes. The feeling of English people for their American cousins is year by year becoming mere among 'educated peeple in England the thought of war with the United States seems impossible. I belleve a great deal of geed will come out of this trouble- I think it will be the cause of the formation of a permanent arbitration court, that can settle all such disputes between nations.
