25 By New Chicago Shaliach The Israel Aliyah Center of Chicago has announced the arrival of Mr. Eli Elad as the new shaliach. Mr. Elad was born in Haifa, Israel on October 24, 1939, to a family of Russian Jewish origin. After completing his elementary schooling, he lived for several years in Kibbutz Mishmar Ha-Emek.

From 1958 to 1961 he served with the Israel Defense Forces. After completing his military service, he returned to Haifa and for one year was educational advisor at the Naval Cadet Training School at Akco. He was employed for 2 years by the Reali High School in Haifa as instructor for Gadna, the premilitary training program for high school students and by the Student Union of the Technion as Director of Cultural Activities. He received his B. A.

degree in Political Science and History. Since 1965 he has been a practicing professional journalist for the "Haaretz" daily. He is responsible for reporting events of Israel's minority communities as well as subjects relating to nature and the geography of the land of Victor Bernhards, Recently Wed Here, On Trip to Russia Dr. and Mrs. Victor M.

Bern-hard are on a trip to Russia where Dr. Bernhard will present a paper at the International Cardiovascular Conference in Moscow. Rabbi Dudley Weinberg officiated at the ceremony on June 20th at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Carl Levin-son.

Mrs. Bernhard, the former Susan A. Baskin is the daughter of Mrs. Benson L. Baskin of Chicago.

The bride attended Wellesly College, Columbia University, Juil-liard Institute of Music and Roosevelt College. She has a master of arts in Sociology and is completing a master of philosophy in education under a fellowship with the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Bernhard, the son of Dr.

and Mrs. Louis A. Bernhard, is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School. He spent a year on a fellowship in cardiovascular surgery with Dr. Michael De Bakey at Baylor University College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
