Ringrose Named Moderator At Annual Meeting Members of the. Ottawa Baptist Association Have Meeting at Brownsburg, Que. The annual meeting of the Ottawa Baptlit Aaaeriatloa wu held in Brown.burg, Qua. Prior to th gen. era! maetlni tht women of the Mission 'Circle and band held their annual meeting.

Report were received which indicated a alight decline in giving a compared with lait rear, but the interest and loyalty of the member had been especially encouraging. Two new Young Women' Circle had been organized and two new Band. The annual election ot officer wa held with the following rault: Directress. Mr. E.

Laymen Ceofercaee Meet. The Baptist Pastors' and Laymen' Conference met to bold it annual election of officers and to discuss (he question "Is there a challenge in the Oxford Group Movement?" The subject was presented by Dr. L. Derby, of Westboro. Several who had Identified themselves with the movement spoke in it favor.

Then followed a lively discussion in which a considerable difference of opinion was expressed en various aspect of the Group movement. The annual election of officer resulted in the re-election of those of last year, namely: President E. H. Scam-mell. Ottawa: vice-president.

Born in Otuwa. and educated at the Rideau Street Convent, she bad a romantic yearning to write books, music or poetry, and finally became a reporter, and a good one. She was 19 year old on her first appearance on the staXi. of The Journal. After she had gained some experience, as a news reporter.

Miss Murphy became the editor of "Everywoman'a World." a woman's magazine of large circulation. Be fore her first advertising effort, that ot writing a financial handbook for a chain store organisation, she made a lecture tour of ute Association ot Woman Clubs. The success at the handbook she wrote brouxht other reauest for specialised copy and eventually she opened her own advertising agency in Montreal, two years of growing success in that line caused her to become the advertising promotion manager of a Cleveland paper, later becoming advertising counsel for a chain of papers. Several years later ah came to the Kern store to assist with the advertising of the forty-ninth founders sal in 1M3 and ha been there since that time Miss Murphy is Irish and typically so.
