The built-in narrated tours can get you started. Exploring on your own does take more time and requires a "vacation mode" patience level as you navigate through dark, cave-like corridors, stopping at various displays. Any display leads to more detailed information with links to related topics.

After a while you may find yourself lost in a labyrinth of information and paths. Not to worry, as the backtrack feature can incomplete skeletons. Once your skeleton is complete you are rewarded with its coming to life and roaming around the museum. DK has also released The Ultimate 3D Skeleton (CD-ROM, Windows or Mac, $59). This quality program features many 3-D views of every moving bone in the human body.

The human body's 200 or so bone parts play centre stage in this state-of-the-art visual presentation. You may view detailed drawings from many sides or see the same part rotate in any direction. Extra views make sure you don't miss one square centimetre of bone. Hear any bone's name by clicking on it and access the Amazing Facts icon for interesting tidbits on bones. The realism of the 3-D bones graphics here is the product of computerized X-ray data from actual human skeletons.
