OF CENTRAL ONFONTA shows proposed routes that an arterial throughway 'would take in the heart of the city. The ordinal route (broken line) Is via Chestnut and Walnut The alternate route (dotted line) crosses DH Railroad land between Chestnut and Main streets. Both are aimed to relieve traffic congestion. The city estimated cost: $500,000, half of rifht-of-way cost for Walnut route; $200,000, half of right-of-way cost for'the alternate route. The state would pay alt other costs.
