A kiln was later purchased by the West Baff inland Eskimo Co-operative, but lack of a trained ceramist in the settlement curtailed development of a ceramic program. So, in January this year, th Indian Affairs and Northern. Development department arranged for Miss Pingwatuk to attend the Kootenay School of Art for a four-month trial period. She was the guest of the school while travel and living expenses were paid by the department! Makituk will be in Ottawa for two weeks, after spending the summer; at Cape Dorset, before returning to her study ies in Nelsob.

The object Sof her course is to enable her to teach the technique to students at Cape Dorset.
