What is behind this effort to push the country to dictatorship? Here is an analysis by tho AP's chief diplomatic affairs reporter in Washington, now on a swing around South America to find out how both Uncle Sam and Fidel Castro are doing in that critical area. HIGHTOWER CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -The Red terrorists in Venezuela call their hit-and-run war bombings, murders, and robber ies "La guerra prolongada" -The long war. Their immediate aim is to destroy this country's hopeful start on democratic government. Their ultimate goal is to convert Venezuela into a new Cuba. "We can afford to lose a thousand times," says one of their slogans, "but we only have to win once." The terrorists are city guerrillas. They have, little support in the countryside or the villages.

They often hide in crowded slum areas but they do not seem to be children of the of slums. They are mainly univer sity students from the country's more privileged families. The youths in their teens and early 20s include girls as well as boys. When an insurance of- 'ice was raided and burned a few days ago the-raiders were two boys and girl in shorts. The Four Million Game Fish Taken From Cataract Lake CLOVERDALE, Ind.

(AP) -Cataract Lake is ready for stocking with bass this fall after the removal of nearly four million rough and game fish. Hundreds of fish fanciers took their pick" Wednesday after the Stale Conservation Department poisoned the fish with rotenone to eliminate overcrowding. Rotenone is harmless to humans. A state fish biologist, Gene Bass of Avoca, said the kill in a 200-acre section of the lake was very successful. He said it will be stocked later this fall with 10,000 bass, some up to 12 inches.

Bass said the lake had averaged 500 rough fish an acre, The rough fish, such as carp, buffalo and suckers, compete with game fish for food and destroy them eventually. Bass estimated the kill at 3 million crappies, 800,000 blue Kills, 8,700 carp and hundreds of buffalo fish. The Conservation Department counted 174 bass at various department checkpoints a said others probably were taken- by per sons who did not pass the checkpoints. About 600 persons in 200 boats were on the lake grabbing the fish as they rose to the surface, Bass said hundreds of persons lined the shore and those in the boats tossed fish to them. Bass said the crappies and blue gills already were showing signs of starvation from overcrowding.
